Yellow Front Door – WHY is this becoming “a thing”?!

Recently, during a virtual home design meeting, I was asked about a yellow front door.  Although at first shocking, I thought “hm this could actually be cool, and show a little character”. Definitely out of your ordinary especially for upstate New York.

With “yellow” and “front door” being buzz words I am hearing around the local community I thought, maybe this has a deeper meaning?

Why yellow? And for your FRONT DOOR, let’s face it, it’s the first aspect you see when looking at a home.

SO, I did what any 31-year-old would do whose profession is to basically talk about color, function, esthetic, materials, and how they coordinate together ALL DAY, and I mean ALL DAY…

And well, here’s what I found: (thanks Google)

1.    I’m working a lot at the moment, and it feels like all work and no play. However, thanks to lockdown, I did finally get around to doing this!

2.    I love that! I get the impression of a magnificent house behind that happy yellow door too’ and simply 

3.    The color people remember better than a number; deliveries never get missed.

4.    How can you not smile upon seeing that?

5.    Yellow offers the warmest of welcomes for any front door’ 

6.    All around the world we recognize the power of this joyful shade to conjure hope, positivity and happiness. It is the smile on the face of your house – which is infectious to all who walk past.

I guess what we need in this world, is a little more cheer! If anyone asks you what was the home design trend in 2021 was, you can sum it all up in (3) words.
